About ME

Passion for AR and VR Software Development

I show up early, and work always- because I love what I do.  I have completed software projects as the project lead or independent developer for Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift/HTC Vive, Magic Leap, IOS and Android AR, and Quest 2, and I have also worked with two teams involved in VR and robotics integration.  I love science & engineering, but also have a deep passion for creativity, invention, and real world application of software for efficiency, productivity, and leisure.

In the Beginning...

1996-2000 Santa Cruz High School

-Coursework including Math Academy, 1 semester Calculus


-Hacked snake programs on a TI-82

2006 B.A., History -University of California at Santa Cruz

-Student Senate Legislative Representative utilizing DemocracyForum.org, a web based voting service that I founded while in school.


-Cabrillo Robotics Club Treasurer, drone and robot design and creation


-Coursework including elective programming for the web, programming series in C++ and Java, Intro to computer programming with games

-Created several small games in Greenfoot with Java


-Created a crossword puzzle program in C++ without a game engine.

-Integrated OpenBionics robotic hands with insulated wire VR gloves

-Produced functioning basic integration of 1:1 scale VR controlled humanoid robot

-Lead Unity dev.

-Created a live cryptocurrency-mining-rig tracking app for a client who ran a mining pool

-Delivered an android app to spec on a two week contract

2018 Sesquipedalian Vocabulary Builder, IOS and Android

-Independently developed title for IOS and Android

-Sourced content from a public domain dictionary

-Practiced regular expressions as the dictionary available publicly is quite out-dated and needed thorough cleaning

-Polished the user experience, especially maximizing user options

-Investigated gamification techniques

-Investigated 2D visual design

-Investigated educational content ideas

2019 Disc Golf AR

-Independently developed AR title for IOS and Android using Unity ARFoundation


-Exploration of ARKit and ARCore SDKs


-Exploration of AI opponents in AR.


-Released as a beta to a few friends for iteration and improvement.


-Huge opportunity for an untapped market (alt sports, low cost effective sponsors for the product etc.)

2019 Stealth Organizing and Voting Platform, IOS & Android

-Lead Unity dev.


-Ideated, pitched, and developed a mobile app for political organizing via clean democratic process online

-Worked with a back end engineer to implement basic login, session management, comment, petition, and voting features

-Worked with and presented to the board of a (small) national org

-Delivered on a successful demo in a 2-month time-frame

2019 ProJect Ventana for Magic Leap

-Participated in the Magic Leap Indie Developer Grant Program (non-recipient)

-Obtained permission with "Atmosphaeres" video producer to use limited 360* videos to demo the product

-Worked with a community leader (the "Golden Leaper") to play test the idea and stress test the hardware for 360* video playback

-Creatively leveraged substantial existing VR content for an AR context

-Built a working prototype to place an AR window anywhere and view 360* videos behind them.

-Pitched as "The desktop background of AR", and "A window to everywhere"

2020 StarShip AR

-Independently developed AR title for IOS and Android using Unity ARFoundation


-Exploration of ARKit and ARCore SDKs


-Exploration of AI opponents in AR.


-Released as a beta to a few friends for iteration and improvement.


-Huge opportunity for an untapped market (education, true scale science, earth-moon model, real-time flight data, etc.)

2021 BuildBots

-Lead Unity dev.


-Partnered with and managed a Junior Unity dev.


-Large scale project for PC, and PCVR cross-play

2022 Surgical Training Simulation with Intuitive Surgical

Stealth Made For VR Title

The real deal.  Solo, full VR game development.  Bringing the next level of immersion to the game mechanics of old, and the virtual experiences of today.   Exploration, resource gathering, hunting, harvesting, crafting, and base building  made natural and intuitive for VR- with a focus on the fun.  Full made for VR experience set to release... when it's done.
